HTML

Last meeting, September 11 & 18, 2009, we had our first lesson for the second quarter, which is all about HTML.

HTML is also known as Hyper Text Markup Language. It is a language for describing web pages. It is the encoding scheme used to create and format a web document. HTML is used in making web pages. These web pages are made from web tools like notepad and should possess in the file name extension html (for ex: document.html). It has different parts, the html, head and the body. In making a web page we should observe the right texts and tags. Some of these are the attributes, etc.

It is very important to make web pages and web sites that are helping our country and our fellowmen. HTML is important in making up the world wide web and of course the Internet.

Internet Features and Netiquette

I learned in my computer class that the Internet has many features such as e-mail, Internet forums, chat, online gaming, etc. E-mail or electronic mail is more faster, economical and convenient to use because it doesn't takes more time to be send to another person and doesn't waste too much expenses as compared to snail mail or conventional mail. Internet forum is more on mailing lists, newsgroups and discussion groups.

I am most interested about the Netiquette, which is also known as network etiquette. It is the rules of proper behavior online. It is also the etiquette when using the Internet.

I want to learn more about the netiquette, because the Internet is widely used throughout the world. Many people even forgot that the Internet should be used for the development of the world and for the people living in it so that the we would have a better life.

World Wide Web

I learned in my computer class that the World Wide Web is not similar to the meaning of the Internet, rather it is a part of the Internet. It is also known as W3 and was invented by Tim Berners - Lee. It is a system of interlinked hypertext documents that are assessed through the Internet.

I also learned about the World Wide Web Consortium or known as W3C, which was also invented by Tim Berners - Lee. It is the main international standards organization for the world wide web and its purpose is to work for the development of standards for the W3. I learned so many terms that is very much related to the World Wide Web.

I am very much interested in the topic about the W3C and its purposes and importance in the development of the World Wide Web, because nowadays many web pages and web sites are not following international standards.

I want to learn more about the web security because many incidents that happen nowadays in the Internet is that some people or persons hacks someones web site's or web page's personal or confidential information.

The Internet

I learned in my computer class that the Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks. It is also known as The Net, Cyberspace and Information Superhighway and the different concepts about Internet, its uses , how it is accessed and who pays for it.

I am very much interested particularly in its uses , because a person cannot understand, study, and use it properly. We could really see that it is very helpful and we benefit from it especially now in the modern times where technology is widely spread and used.

I want to learn more about the different kinds of Internet access, because it has so many concepts and terms that I sometimes misplace with another term. It is also better to know it because there are many different kinds of Internet access nowadays.
